Welcome! I’m Kavish, I’m so glad you’re here and I’m excited to share my views on Branding and everything related to it with you.

Branding Buff, as the name implies, it’s a blog for every single Branding enthusiast, like me. here I’m trying to figure out some of the very important things about Brands. Why is it so important nowadays? Or was it important from the inception of the commercialism? Let us figure it out together.

What Is Branding? A Working Definition of Brand.

The best place to start is to understand what a brand isn’t.

Your brand isn’t your logo. Your brand isn’t your visual identity system or your retina-ready website. It isn’t your colour scheme or even your wonderful product. And most importantly, your brand isn’t what you say it is.

Your brand is what they say it is. They meaning people, people meaning humans and humans meaning the intuitive, flawed and emotive beings we all are.

In other words, your brand is a gut feeling that’s rooted deep within people.

It’s a feeling because people are emotional, instinctive beings. It’s a personal feeling because brands are defined by individuals, one by one, human by human. And when enough individuals arrive at the same gut feeling, we have a brand.

I believe that the best way to lead in Branding is Modest Ostentation. Click to know more about it.

I will be glad if you leave your feedback in comments. Thanks for the visit. 🙂

  1. Kavish, you’ve got it right. Brand is what our customers have experienced us to be or heard us to be with help from our branding strategies. Logos and the like are a part of the equation, but they are not our brand, as you said. I do differ from you in that I think there are right and wrong branding strategies. And although more difficult than ever, our branding strategies should be judged by analytics. Anyhow, nice post and good luck with your blog. It’s certainly an interesting topic to me!

    • Thanks a lot Rick, for the feedback and wishes. It’s also interesting topic for me too. by the way I didn’t mean there’s nothing right or wrong, certainly there is. What I mean is today marketers are ambiguous about the brand strategies, they don’t know which will work and which won’t. So, it’s easy to analyse after the results of any particular strategy are out. Then you can understand customer behaviour thoroughly.
By the way, thanks again for the appreciation!

  2. Excellent blog you have here Kavish. Not only sharing branding campaigns but really getting your opinions out there. Keep up the great work and I will be back to take a look at future posts.
